FIU Registration Info – Spring 2018

Registration instructions for students from USF or UCF taking courses at FIU in Spring 2018

    1. Registration by USF and UCF students for courses offered at FIU in Spring 2018 begins on Thursday, January 4, 2018. Spring classes at FIU begin on Monday, January 8, 2018.
    2. Information about the courses offered by FIU in Spring 2018 can be found on the TEAm webpage  https://www.csit-team.org/offered-courses-spring-2018/
    3. Reserve a seat in the course you are interested in taking via the appropriate Reserve Seat link provided in the TEAm webpage. Reserving a seat will allow the administrators/staff at FIU to help you enroll in the course you selected and communicate with you by email to give specific instructions or get further information.
    4. Complete and submit the Transient Student Application through Florida Shines https://www.floridashines.org/. Fill and submit the transient student application form by visiting https://www.flvc.org/succeed-in-school/take-a-course-at-another-school

    5. Once FIU has approved you as an inbound transient student, you will be notified through flvc.org electronically. Your FIU Panther ID, Registration Date and other pertinent information will be included in the ‘Comments’ area of your form.
    6. Login my.fiu.edu using the FIU Panther ID sent to you and proceed to register in the course.
    7. All transient and non-degree seeking students register on Thursday, January 4, 2018 before the term begins. If you have reserved a seat via the TEAm website and demonstrated you have the prerequisites for the course, the FIU staff will be able to help you enroll in the course and/or get you permit to register in the course if your are unable to register or get error message that says, “Prerequisites not met.”
    8. Payment for the course must be made online or submitted to the FIU Cashier’s Office by the Payment Deadline which is Wednesday, January 17, 2018. Please pay the course fee by this deadline to avoid paying a $100 Late Payment Fee and avoid being dropped from the course.
    9. The Financial Aid Offices at UCF, USF, and FIU have agreed to allow the TEAm students to use their institutional grants and scholarship funding to assist them in participating with the shared online courses. Designated officials in each institution will verify the students enrolled in the shared online courses and communicate with the Financial Aid Office to ensure that the institutional aid of these students disburses.
